There are many ways to raise the value of your home, one of them being to boost its curb appeal. If your house looks great from the outside and catches the eye of potential buyers, they’re much more likely to develop an interest in it.

The exterior appearance and curb appeal is a big selling point for many people, and thankfully, there are plenty of options for you to improve yours. In case you want to upgrade your home’s exterior and turn heads, let’s look at a few inspiring renovation projects to help you do just that.

1. New Shutters

Shutters are often overlooked or left out entirely when renovating a home’s exterior. But, the right kind of shutters will not only help protect your windows, but they can also complement the aesthetic and mesh perfectly with your siding, trim, and other exterior features.

There are many types of shutters to choose from, including board and batten shutters, which happen to be trending right now. Available in all colors, these shutters are known for their warm, inviting vibe and can raise your curb appeal if you pick the right style.

2. Fresh Siding

There’s no better way to boost your curb appeal than with brand new, stylish siding. Colors and materials go in and out of style pretty quickly when it comes to siding, and it often gets weathered pretty quickly as well.

For example, if you have old white home siding, you would do well to swap it for new siding. We like uniform exterior aesthetics, but certain color contrasts are also in style right now as well. Light siding with dark trim, for instance, can accentuate the clean look of light-colored siding and really make your windows and doors pop.

3. New Shingles

Shingles are another huge aspect of any home’s exterior appearance. Old shingles can ruin your home’s look, so you’ll want to add fresh shingles at the very least.

You can also experiment with innovative, hot new types of roofing like synthetic cedar shake shingles.  These shingles look just like real cedar shingles but require a fraction of the maintenance. They’re also much more durable than metal roof tiles with a cedar design.

4. Permeable Pavement

Asphalt and concrete break down and do not wear damage well. If you’re willing to add or update your walkways and/or driveway, use permeable pavement instead.

Plastic permeable pavers are a super quick install and they can be filled with any type of aggregate you want. The pavers hold the aggregate in place, preventing it from ever scattering or degrading in appearance.

There are many colors to play around with here like yellow pea stone, white crushed marble, crushed bluestone, green limestone, and more. The result will be clean-cut, beautiful pavement that complements your exterior wonderfully.

Get Creative with These Inspiring Exterior Renovations

If you want to boost your curb appeal, any of these ideas are a great place to start. By experimenting with new colors, textures, and materials, you can help your home stand out from the rest and stun passersby with its aesthetic excellence.
